Jhang Weather Today, 7 November 2026: Sunny at 31°C — Air Improves Sharply to Unhealthy at AQI 155

4 min read No comments

Jhang will stay dry and sunny today, Saturday 7 November 2026, with the temperature climbing to 31°C in the afternoon — and the air is markedly better than yesterday, though it remains unhealthy and people with breathing difficulties should still take care outdoors.

The morning begins cool and clear. At 9am the temperature is around 22°C under a sunny sky, with humidity near 72 per cent and a light south-westerly breeze of about 3 kilometres per hour. The temperature rises steadily through the morning, reaching 25°C by 10am and 27°C by 11am, before the sun takes full hold around midday.

The warmest part of the day arrives in the early afternoon. Temperatures are forecast to reach 28°C at noon, 29°C at 1pm and peak at 30°C between 2pm and 3pm, with clear sunshine and a gentle breeze of 6 to 7 kilometres per hour. There is no rain expected at any point today, and the chance of rain stays at zero per cent through the daylight hours.

Evenings will cool down quickly once the sun sets. The sun goes down at 5:17pm, and the temperature is expected to fall to 28°C by 5pm, 26°C by 6pm and 24°C by 8pm. By 11pm it should be around 22°C under a clear sky, heading for an overnight low of 18°C. The sun rises at 6:31am.

Air quality: much better than yesterday, still unhealthy

Today’s air quality index (AQI) for Jhang stands at 155, which is classed as unhealthy. The main pollutant is PM2.5 — the fine particles that penetrate deepest into the lungs. That is a sharp improvement on yesterday, when Jhang’s AQI reached 678 and the district topped Punjab’s pollution chart, but it is still far from safe air.

An AQI of 155 means the air is not satisfactory for anyone, and people with heart or lung conditions, older residents and children should limit prolonged outdoor exertion. The health department’s guidance during the smog spell is to wear a mask outdoors, avoid sending children and respiratory patients outside unnecessarily, wash eyes with clean water if they become irritated, and keep doors and windows closed during the smoggiest hours of the morning and evening.

The improvement should be kept in perspective. Jhang was listed among the world’s most polluted cities yesterday, alongside Lahore, Multan and Gujranwala, and the Express Tribune reports that with no rainfall expected over the next three days — Saturday, Sunday and Monday — air quality indices across Punjab are likely to deteriorate again. The smog season is far from over, and a single clearer morning does not mean the problem has gone away.

What the week ahead looks like

Tomorrow, Sunday 8 November, is expected to be sunny with a high of 30°C and a low of 18°C, with a small 10 per cent chance of rain. The dry, settled pattern looks set to continue, which means the smog is unlikely to clear quickly without a change in wind or a spell of rain.

For farmers, the dry weather keeps the wheat-sowing window open. Growers in irrigated areas have until 20 November to complete sowing, and the clear days are ideal for field work — though the smog is a health risk for anyone working outdoors for long hours.

A word of caution

Weather and air-quality figures vary between monitoring networks and stations, and readings can change through the day as wind and temperature shift. The figures in this report are taken from The Weather Channel’s live Jhang forecast on the morning of 7 November 2026, with the previous day’s peak and the no-rain outlook as reported by The Express Tribune on 7 November. If you have asthma or another respiratory condition, check the current reading before heading out and follow your doctor’s advice.
