Three Accidents in Jhang Leave 10 Injured; Brother’s Firing Wounds 18-Year-Old Sister in Ahmedpur Sial

Ten people, including children, were injured in three separate road accidents across Jhang district, while an 18-year-old girl was wounded when her brother allegedly opened fire on her after a domestic argument in Ahmedpur Sial.

Rescue 1122 responded to all four incidents, giving first aid to the injured at the scene before shifting them to hospitals. No deaths were reported in any of the incidents.

The first accident took place on Bhakkar Road, near the Adda Malkana turn, when a motorcycle’s tyre burst. Forty-year-old Muhammad Irfan, his 11-year-old daughter Ruqayya Bibi and his nine-year-old son Abdul Rehman were injured in the crash. The family belongs to Kotli Baqar Shah in tehsil 18 Hazari. Rescue workers gave the three first aid at the scene and then shifted them to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital, 18 Hazari.

The second accident happened on Faisalabad Road, near Rural Health Centre Mochiwala, where a motorcycle-rickshaw and a van collided. Five people were injured in the collision. They were named as eight-year-old Javeria, six-year-old Rida Fatima, ten-year-old Raheela, another eight-year-old child also named Rida Fatima, and 18-year-old Usman. All five belong to Chak 183 on Faisalabad Road, Jhang. The rescue team shifted all of them to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, Jhang, after first aid.

The third accident was on the M-4 motorway, as traffic travelled from Shorkot towards the Abdul Hakim Interchange. A speeding Vigo Dala pick-up suffered a tyre burst and overturned. Two people were injured. Rescue 1122 sent an ambulance to the scene; one of the injured was shifted by a Motorway Police ambulance, while rescue workers gave the other first aid at the spot.

Separately, in the Pir Abdul Rehman area of tehsil Ahmedpur Sial, 18-year-old Aqsa Mai, daughter of Muhammad Iqbal, was injured when her brother allegedly opened fire during a minor domestic argument. Rescue workers reached the scene, gave the girl first aid and shifted her to THQ Hospital, Ahmedpur Sial, for further treatment.

Two of the three road accidents were caused by tyres bursting โ€” a reminder of how suddenly a routine journey can turn dangerous when a tyre fails at speed. The Bhakkar Road crash and the motorway crash both began the same way, and in both cases the vehicles involved were carrying families or passengers with no protection beyond the vehicle itself.

The incidents also show how much of Rescue 1122’s daily work involves the roads. The service’s ambulances were called to four different locations across the district in a single day, from Bhakkar Road and Faisalabad Road to the motorway and Ahmedpur Sial, and its crews provided first aid before hospital transfers in every case.

For drivers, the day’s accidents carry a plain lesson. Tyres should be checked for wear, cracks and correct pressure before a journey, especially on fast roads such as the motorway, where a burst tyre leaves almost no time to react. Motorcycles carrying children need the same care, since a burst tyre on two wheels can throw the whole family to the road.

The firing incident in Ahmedpur Sial is a separate matter, and it is reported here only on the facts available: a young woman was injured after a domestic argument, and she was taken to hospital. The report does not state whether police have registered a case or arrested anyone, and this article does not guess at either point.

In total, 11 people were injured across the four incidents reported in Jhang on 6 November. All of them received first aid from Rescue 1122 and were shifted to hospitals for treatment.
