Jhang Weather Today, 22 October 2026: Clear and Dry, High of 27°C — Air Quality Still Poor

2 min read No comments

Thursday brings Jhang a clear and settled day, though the haze hanging over the district is a reminder that the smog season is tightening its grip.

Today’s forecast

Skies over Jhang will stay clear through the day with no chance of rain. The maximum temperature is expected to reach around 27°C, with the minimum settling near 20–21°C. Because of humidity and light winds, it may feel slightly warmer than the thermometer shows — close to 27°C in the warmest hours.

Humidity is moderate at roughly 35 to 48 per cent, and winds are light, around 1.7 to 2.4 metres per second, which is barely enough to stir the air. Sunrise brings a pleasant start, but the morning hours can carry a thin layer of haze as moisture and fine particles mix in the cool air.

The next few days stay dry and gradually warmer: Friday touches 31°C, Saturday and Sunday push towards 31–32°C with lows near 19°C, and Monday holds around 32°C. Skies remain clear throughout, with no rain in sight for at least the next five days.

Air quality: poor, and getting worse

The uncomfortable news is the air. Live readings put Jhang’s Air Quality Index in the 237 to 277 range today — firmly in the “poor” band, and driven almost entirely by PM2.5 fine particles. For comparison, yesterday’s reading was around 155, which was already in the unhealthy zone. Today’s levels are markedly worse.

In practical terms, an AQI between 200 and 300 means everyone should take it seriously. Sensitive groups — children, the elderly, people with asthma or heart conditions — should avoid prolonged outdoor exertion. Everyone else should keep outdoor activity short and avoid morning walks when the haze is thickest.

Practical advice for today

Carry water if you are out in the afternoon warmth, and keep a light jacket handy for the cooler evening, when temperatures drop towards 20°C. If you or a family member has breathing trouble, consider a mask outdoors and keep windows closed during the morning haze. Drivers should watch out for reduced visibility at dawn.
