A shocking domestic tragedy has struck Amirwala village in Jhang district, where a man killed his 14-year-old daughter and seriously injured his 19-year-old son.
According to Masan police, the incident grew out of a minor domestic dispute. What began as a small disagreement inside the home turned violent, and by the time neighbours could react, the young girl had lost her life and her brother was left wounded.
Police response
Police teams reached the crime scene soon after being informed and cordoned off the area. A forensic team was called in to collect evidence from the scene, following the standard procedure for serious crimes. The body of the deceased girl was shifted to a hospital for a post-mortem examination, which will form part of the legal record of the case.
An investigation has been formally launched, and the police are recording statements and examining the circumstances that led to the violence. The injured son is receiving medical treatment. In cases of this nature, the post-mortem report, the forensic evidence collected at the scene, and the recorded statements together form the core of the prosecution’s case once the matter reaches the court.
DPO’s assurance
District Police Officer (DPO) Jhang, Bilal Iftikhar Kiyani, took notice of the incident and vowed that the killer would be brought before the court of law and punished at the earliest. His statement signals that the district police intend to pursue the case through the full legal process without delay.
Such cases of violence inside the home continue to trouble communities across Punjab. While the law treats them as criminal offences to be prosecuted in court, experts and social workers repeatedly point to the need for better awareness around anger management, conflict resolution, and support systems for families under stress — so that minor disputes never again end in irreversible loss.
